Welcome Wagon Growth in 2025

Did you know that the Vermont Welcome Wagon Project is made possible by the efforts of numerous regional programs and funding from ThinkVT? It's true!

While the VWWP began in 2018, the last two years have seen new growth and collaboration between Vermont regional partners in a new coordinated effort to pursue our mission: 

1. We believe diversity is fundamental to a strong and vibrant Vermont. By intention and design, our program welcomes all people to participate. We respect and affirm the dignity of each member of the community.
2. We seek to complement the efforts in the State to close the talent gap in Vermont by helping retain new, newly returning, and existing Vermonters in the state by assisting them to get connected to community. 
3. Our goal is to create a diverse, inclusive network of folks that understand the need for Vermont to grow and retain great people and talent in our state. Our hosts love Vermont and want to share all that this wonderful state has to offer residents.

How the WW connects Hosts and New Vermonters may vary slightly from one county to another, but we're unified in our desire to help New Vermonters feel "at home" and connected to their local community and the larger statewide identity. Learn more about our Regional Chapters. 

Across regional programs, we welcomed 92 New Vermonters during a two-year period, from January 2024 to December 2025.
