This December, the NEK YPN and NEK Welcome Wagon are hosting a small, informal gathering at the Pub at the Wildflower Inn in Lyndonville if you're looking to take a moment away from the to-do lists and dizziness of December. Treat yourself to a quick bite, and help us support a local non-profit with a shelf-stable donation!
Note: due to inclement weather, the original event has been rescheduled to December 17th, 2024.
Come connect with fellow NEKers for this small Wednesday gathering on December 17th from 5pm - 7pm. The Welcome Wagon will be providing appetizers from the Wildflower Inn. The food from the Wildflower Inn is delicious and sure to help get through an otherwise busy and chilly Wednesday in the Northeast Kingdom.
The Northeast Kingdom Young Professionals Network is sponsoring a Food Drive to support local Lyndonville non-profit Helping Other People Everyday, or H.O.P.E.
H.O.P.E. is an amazing local organization providing support for life's basics to community members in need. You may have seen the thrift store they operate, which helps to fund their mission. This non-profit has a number of services they provide, and each can make all the difference in the lives of a neighbor. From the diaper bank and clothing vouchers, to seasonal soup pantry and fresh produce offerings, to homeless and crises services - this is a wonderful organization that is doing so much for those in need throughout the area.
H.O.P.E. is looking for shelf-stable food donations to distribute to community members and families in need this December, so this event asks each attendee to donate 1-2 canned goods if they can.
Here are the items in high need right now:
Consider donating to support Helping Other People Everyday in their mission with a financial donation, or visit their website to see other ways you can help make a difference this holiday season.
