NEK Welcomes Potential Vermonters in 2025 Keys to the Kingdom Weekend

This August, visitors from six different states will gather in Newport, Vermont for Keys to the Kingdom, a weekend designed to showcase all that life in the Northeast Kingdom (NEK) has to offer. Whether you're dreaming of relocating or just curious about what makes this corner of Vermont so special, the event is the perfect introduction to the region’s natural beauty, thriving industries, and strong sense of community.

From August 8-10, attendees will connect with local employers, nonprofit leaders, real estate agents, and community champions. Organizations like area chambers of commerce and economic development teams will be on hand to share resources and answer questions about moving to and working in the NEK.

  • The weekend kicks off Friday evening with a Welcome Reception at Le Belvedere, where guests will receive itineraries and mingle with other participants and local leaders over light bites and drinks.
  • Saturday offers personalized recommendations and a full slate of activities in and around downtown Newport, culminating in a scenic evening cruise on Lake Memphremagog aboard the Northern Star.
  • On Sunday, guests will enjoy a hosted brunch at the Eastside Restaurant, right on the water

This immersive experience is more than just a tour—it’s a glimpse into daily life in a region known for its natural splendor, craft culture, and small-town charm. If you've been thinking about a big move in 2025, your keys to the Kingdom might just be waiting here in Vermont.
